In the UK, Avon and Somerset police are trying out a new tool which can identify potential leads that may not have been found during a manual examination of available evidence.

The new Soze tool, developed in Australia, can easily analyse video footage, financial transactions, social media, emails and other documents simultaneously. This will cut the investigation analysis and concluding time by a factor of hundreds.

An evaluation showed that it was able to analyse evidential material in 27 complex cases in just over a day (approximately 30 hours), and estimated that this task would’ve taken the human 80 years to accomplish successfully.
